Change name server

  1. Log in to https://hcp.stwcp.net/
  2. Navigate to Domains and Websites and select Domain Administrator
  3. Click Edit to the right of the current domain name
  4. Select the Name Server tab
    • If the domain should point to ServeTheWorld - https://hcp.stwcp.net/ - click the button Use our nameservers
  5. Click Save

Note that it may take up to 24 hours for the changes to propagate everywhere on the web.

https://hcp.stwcp.net/ platform uses the following name servers:

ns1.stwcp.net
ns2.stwcp.net
ns3.stwcp.net

Where to find DNS entries

  1. Log in to https://hcp.stwcp.net
  2. Navigate to Domains and Websites and select DNS
  3. Select domain name in the Web site
  4. You will now see the list of all DNS entries for the selected domain name in the previous item.

Quick Install Guide:
The symbol @ in the column for Underdomene indicates the root domain, in the example below is demo.no (without www)
www in the subdomain column indicates www.demo.no in the example below
ftp in the subdomain column indicates ftp.demo.no in the example below

Add a new DNS A entry

DNS A entry is a pointer for your domain name for an IP address. Example 1: You want to create pointers for the subdomain blog.demo.no to 1.2.3.4

  1. Navigate to Domains and Websites and select DNS
  2. Select domain name in the Web site
  3. Click the Add button
  4. Enter the desired name in the Subdomain field
    • For example, if writes blog in the field Subdomain, the entry will apply to blog.demo.no
    • The symbol @ indicates the root domain, demo.no, ie without www.
  5. Select A in the Type field
  6. TTL can be set to default value 3600
  7. Enter IP Address in the Data field
    • The IP address is usually given by the supplier, please contact your technical contact person.
  8. Click Save

Change DNS A entry / Change IP address to your domain name

Example: Your technician or web site provider has given you a new IP address for your domain name for demo.no and www.demo.no, so your domain points to a new web page.

To change the control panel https://hcp.stwcp.net/

  1. Navigate to Domains and Websites and select DNS
  2. Select domain name in the Web site
  3. Click Edit in the line of the symbol @, Type A
    • Select Continue if a change appears
  4. Change the Data field with the new IP address of the webpage provider
  5. Click Save
    • Remember to do the same with www - in step 3 you will be able to complete www instead of @

Note that it will take up to 24 hours for changes to be visible everywhere on the web

Create new DNS MX entry (point for email)

  1. Navigate to Domains and Web Pages and select DNS
  2. Select the domain name in the Website field
  3. Click Add To
  4. Fill in all fields with star (*)
    • The symbol @ indicates the root domain, for example. demo.no.
    • Select MX in the Type field
    • TTL can be set to standard 3600
    • Priority and address to mail server (this is received by email provider)
  5. Click Save

Be sure to delete old DNS MX entries.

Create SRV entry

The screen shows the creation of the SRV entry __sip._tls.demo.no__

Subdomains: _sip._tls Type: SRV TTL: 3600 Data: 1 100 port xxx.no (Priority Weight Port Address)

Create TXT entry

  1. Navigate to Domains and Web Pages and select DNS
  2. Select the domain name in the Website field
  3. Click Add To
  4. Fill in all fields with star (*)
    • The symbol @ indicates the root domain, for example. demo.no.
    • Select TXT in the Type field
    • Type Data / Value in field Data with quotes both front and back - eg. "Abc"

You can have 255 characters in TXT record (Data). If you have more than 255 characters on Data, you can split up, for example.

"v = DKIM1; k = r ..." (space) "U4nrSLu ..."

Delete DNS entry

Deleting some DNS entries may mean that service (s) will stop working, for example. web page or email.

  1. Log in to https://hcp.stwcp.net
  2. Navigate to Domains and Web Pages and select DNS
  3. Select the domain name in the Website field
  4. Click Delete at current entry

Retrieve copy of zone file

  1. Log in to https://hcp.stwcp.net
  2. Navigate to Domains and Websites and select DNS
  3. Select domain name in the Web site
  4. Click the Export Zone button.
