# SSL sertifikat

### Order an SSL certificate 

It is not a technical requirement to have a domain name or server space with us to order an SSL certificate.

1. Log in to the control panel and go to <https://my.servetheworld.net/>
2. Select Order to proceed to the payment page
3. Review the order one last time before payment.

#### Why do you need an SSL certificate? 

SSL stands for **Secure Sockets Layer** and means that all data between the *visitor* and the *website* is encrypted.

If your website handles information such as *personal data*, *passwords*, *payment and card information*, you should install an SSL certificate.

**Benefits of SSL and https:**

- Secure status / green padlock next to the web address in the browser
- Better ranking in search engines (Google).
- Gives users confidence in the website when exchanging data such as login and payment.
